Our Mission: Roanoke Area FairTax is dedicated to informing and educating the public about the FairTax and convincing our Congressional representatives to support it.
Our Meetings: We meet the first Thursday of every month at 6:45 P.M. in Edinburgh Square’s Community Room. Edinburgh Square is located at 129 Hershberger Road, near Plantation Road, opposite the Star City Skating Rink.
Our Goal: We hope to create and document enough support in the greater Roanoke area to convince our Congressmen to co-sponsor and/or support the FairTax bill (HR-25) and push for its passage in Congress, in their public meetings, and in their newsletters. This may require providing them with education about what the FairTax will accomplish
Our Approach: As your volunteer activists we are working to educate people about the benefits of the FairTax. We do it by maintaining this website; meeting monthly; conducting seminars and educational meetings; speaking to civic groups; distributing information to citizens at public events; placing programming on a cable access channel; conducting group study of “The FairTax Book;” writing letters and commentaries to the Roanoke Times, the Roanoke Star-Sentinel, and community newspapers; participating in a debate on Blue Ridge PBS’s “Insight;” and by providing information for an article in “The Blue Ridge Business Journal.”
