Americans for Fair Taxation’s Communications Director has written to FairTax supporters urging us to keep spreading the word. After pointing out how elected officials and candidates are not doing their jobs to solve problems, he gives examples of good news regarding the FairTax.

Rep. Bob Goodlatte is not yet a supporter of the FairTax.

Rep. Bob Goodlatte does not support the FairTax and is not a co-sponsor of H.R.-25 in Congress.

There will be no August Meeting due to the number of people being away on vacation.

An article in Sunday’s paper was an eye opener of gigantic proportions..On page 10 was a picture of  at least 15 boxes of amendments
 to HR 3200, known as the health care bill.
 What is “buried” in these  legal documents that only lawyers can understand?    Some of the wording is almost laughable if it weren’t so

The Roanoke Times published Ricky Parker’s letter that explains how the FairTax would be a better way to stimulate the economy.

An interesting new website is attempting to create a national priority list for the new administration. I urge a visit to this site to keep the FairTax out in plain view.

The election has changed the situation regarding the FairTax. Read the inspiring message from Ken Hoagland, National Communications Director of FairTax.org.

Tax Day, April 15th is a great opportunity to spread the word to people whose minds are firmly focused on the unpleasantness of filing income taxes. And this year there is the additional opportunity of a national grassroots Tea Party movement. Roanoke Area FairTax is combining both at Roanoke’s main Post Office on Rutherford Ave. across from the Civic Center.

Roanoke Area FairTax needs your input! We are coming up on the most intense tax-based activity of the year and need your good ideas about how to get the FairTax message out during this time. We have a couple of Tea Party activities already scheduled and invite your participation in them, as well as your suggestions for expanding them or arranging new ones.

Saturday (3/14) is Roanoke’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, a time for family and fun. Roanoke Area FairTax will be there again this year but with a new twist: an invitation to party.
