Welcome to the new website of Roanoke Area FairTax! This site has been modified to reflect the change in operating philosophy as well as to better enable us to bring information to our visitors.
Roanoke Area FairTax has decided to attempt to fill a gap in organized advocacy for the FairTax in most parts of all three of the Congressional Districts that surround Roanoke, VA. In each district we have identified population centers that could support a local area FairTax group and are seeking potential creators of these groups from among the supporters who responded to our surveys regarding location and interest in the FairTax. At the same time we are contacting tea parties and other groups that, for the most part, have formed in the same areas we have selected. We are proposing to them that we share a common interest in tax reform and should cooperate where possible and practical to promote the FairTax as the replacement for the current income tax and the IRS. We argue that, even for those that prefer another kind of reform, promotion of the FairTax will bring us closer to where we all want to be than is the income tax.
